A note on free curriculum: Free curriculum is always in reach, it may require more of the parent in terms of preparation or finding resources. So much is available online that we hope this will be a good starting point if you seek to keep costs low as you homeschool.
Freedom Homeschooling - A website with free options organized by subject
Easy Peasy all-in-one Homeschool - To have a family account for students that allows you to have access to course checklists and other features, a $15 donation does apply. Otherwise all plans and the website are free to use. Paper workbooks available for purchase on Amazon.
Ambleside Online - Charlotte Mason annual lesson plans and teaching guides, with associated resources listed. Plans are free, books are generally low cost through Amazon or are public domain. Some costs associated, but again, this depends on the parent.
An Old Fashioned Education - Faith Based curriculum based on living books and textbooks, largely public domain (published pre-1923 before copyright)
CK-12 - Free textbooks, flashcards, and resources for a variety of courses
Mater Amabilis - Catholic, Charlotte Mason Based plans you can print out and fill in with your chosen content subjects. It does lay out faith based bible study and help guide the parents as to what to fill in for weekly work. It can be licensed for a Co-op as well.
The Prudent Homemaker - Plans by grade with recommendations for curriculum

Progressive Phonics - Phonics instruction site with printable handouts for reading, and handwriting sheets
ABC Fast Phonics - A webpage that will take you through phonetic sounds using cartoons

Amazing Educational Resources - tons of educational freebies and resources online. Not all free, but many are.
Amazing Handwriting Worksheets - free to print and can be done in a variety of handwriting styles (print, cursive)
Free Math Worksheets - organized by topic
Pathways - has interactive, standards-based resources in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and Spanish for use in traditional, virtual, and home school.
Khan Academy - Many great supplemental videos and courses which are free to students with an account.
Hippo Campus - Free videos for Grade 6+ on a variety of subjects
Biodiversity Heritage Library - Great resource for public domain texts and primary texts. This seems to be largely nature based in its offerings.

Artist Quest - An outline for Artist studies, where you pick an artist and find books and online resources to learn more about them
Music Lessons online - Basic skill work in piano, flute, recorder, guitar, percussion
